I also began reading THE BOOK on Google Ad Grants, written by Josh Barsch. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to learn more about applying for, managing, and keeping a Google Ad Grant for their non-profit. Imagine my surprise when I received a hand written card, the front of which was a photo of some of my barracks-mates from the Marines involved in some serious dress-code violations. I spend several minutes really thinking about this cool service. Apparently, what my friend Preston Mayon did was find a public image I had posted in socials some time ago, and then used that as the card cover. What a powerful idea (Just make sure it's a good memory they shared that you are re-sharing with them).

Ideally, we'd love to send a handwritten note to all of our clients and prospects. They deserve such  attention. I was pleased to recently meet James West the Founder and CEO of a great Cyber-Security company Covalent International at a recent SRP event for veterans. James and I really hit it off because of our shared background in intelligence work. I can tell you he is what we refer to in the military as "high speed, low drag". 

I was particularly intrigued when James told me about his passion - using the skill that he and others learned from military service to help in the fight to conserve endangered species.  So he recently gathered a team of folks with diverse, applicable skills and founded the non-profit ARC Foundation. Their focus in in several African countries for now, especially Namibia. As I understand it, their goal is to provide intelligence and security services to help other conservation organizations to be more successful preserving endangered animal habitats and combating poaching.

Can you imagine a world without this gorgeous critter?

The Pangolin is the most trafficked mammals in the world. On top of that, its habitat is threatened by deforestation, All extant species are endangered, some critically, and several other species are now extinct.
